I have been thinking about writing…

…dreaming about writing, and actually writing for almost all of my life. As a child, I’d tell myself stories before going to sleep - complicated tales with many characters, one chapter of the story per night. In those stories, sometimes I was an active participant, other times I was simply watching the story unfold, unperturbed by the fate visited upon the lives I created in my mind’s eye, knowing all too well that another night would come and I could reinvent the story new.

The labor of writing is a quiet and mysterious one. Some days it works, other days it doesn’t. And in truth, I believe that a story can live inside of a writer for years before it leaps out into the tap-tap-tap of a keyboard or the scratching of pen on paper. So many stories never leap, and that is okay, because so many do.

I am marveled by storytelling, by transporting people’s minds and hearts into a world that is beyond what they see and feel around them. It’s the best kind of magic. I want to be a part of it… and so, I write.

My work is centered on the marketing of innovation. For the past decade or so I have grown and nurtured a small but mighty marketing agency, Arena Marketing. In the Arena, I have the opportunity to lead and be led, to teach and learn. I work hard, smart, and fast; I am passionate about having a positive impact.

But here, well…in here, I am a writer. I explore my personal views and experiences. I commit memories to written stories. I engage with those that want to share with me their own ideas and dreams and possibilities.

Here I share the poetry that inspires me, the images that bring color to my world, and the delicate narratives that push me forward to change and evolve.
